Attached below you will find a copy of the 2021 Market Application as a Word Document or PDF .
Welcome to the Seba Beach Farmers’ Market 2021
We are so excited that back at Pavilion!!!!!
These past few years have been very challenging and we will continue to see challenges and changes for this coming season. As a vendor we ask that you read this letter and the Seba Beach Farmers’ Market Rules to familiarize yourselves with the changes may affect you.
The Seba Beach Farmers’ Market is required to hold a general meeting each year and due to the Covid-19 restrictions we were not able to have the 2020’s General Meeting. The 2021 General Meeting will be March 31, 2021 at 7:00pm and it will be an electronic meeting using Zoom Meet as the Covid restrictions are still in place. Debbie will send you a meeting request prior to the meeting with a link to download the Zoom Meet App. and the meeting request link that can be used to log in.
We were not able to have the elections for the Board of Directors in 2020 due to the Covid restriction and so we are required to have the elections at the 2021 General Meeting. The following positions are up for re-election: Vise Chairperson: George, Treasurer: Debbie and
Member at Large: Farrell
If you want a say in how the market is run and you have some spare time to donate to a great cause you should consider running for a position. If you require any additional information about the elections please contact Paulette, Shauna or one of the board members.
New this Season:
I am happy to say we are back at the Seba Beach Pavilion this season!!!! As expected the new facility brings the extra cost of rent being increased to $250 per week and a damage deposit of $2000 now being required. This season again, we will be operating under the Covid restrictions and last season we saw a loss in revenue due the Covid-19 restrictions. I’m sorry to say that in order to budget for these added costs we have increased the vendor market fees.
There is one week (July 10th) where the Seba Beach Pavilion will not be not available due to the village elections. The board feels that losing the July 10th Saturday market is a huge loss for our vendors. The alternative to losing a market was to book the Pavilion for a Friday (July 9th) market and changing the time to an evening market (time is still to be decided).
Outside vendors will be required to bring their own tables as the market no longer has table available for outside use.
The board added an Administrative Rule based on a discussion with Eileen, our Farmers Market Specialist. Going forward the past Chairperson and past Treasurer can remain on board as a non-market vendor and a non-voting member. This will help the board have a smooth transition from past to current positions providing a carryover of knowledge to new board members.
There are new regulations laid out by the Alberta Government regarding food labelling requirements and a fact sheet outlining these regulations is attached to the application.
This season vendors will be asked to take home their garbage as there is no garbage storage at the Pavilion.
Covid-19 restrictions are still in place and updates will be published as regulations change.
Parking requirements will be announced once they are determined by the Village and the Board.
Thank you so much for your cooperation in helping us make this the Best Little Market in Alberta!!
